About us

A small startup. Made in the USA.

Life is built by Aspheris, a small startup in the United States. We make an app that keeps the whole of a person's life in one place, and shows how each part connects to the rest.

Made in the USA

Life is designed, built and run in the United States, by the same small team.

Support from the US

Every support question is answered by our team in the United States. No call centers, no hand-offs overseas.

Your data stays here

Your records, documents and backups are stored in the United States, encrypted, and reachable only through your account.

Why a small team builds something this big.

A life has a lot of moving parts: homes and the companies that serve them, accounts and the cards that pay them, cars, projects, warranties, and the people you work with. Most tools keep each part in its own drawer. Life keeps the thread between them, so you can follow a dollar, an hour or a receipt from one end to the other.

Being small means the people who build Life are the people who answer you. When you write to us, your message reaches the team that can actually change the app.

Being young means Life is still growing. We add to it every week, and we take the trust you place in it seriously. Read how we look after your data in our Terms of Use.

The name

Aspheris: say it as three words, a sphere is.

Pronounceduh‑SFEER‑iss

The name comes from the aspheric lens. A simple lens is ground as a slice of a sphere, and it bends the light at its edge differently from the light at its centre, so a scene never quite comes into focus all at once. An aspheric lens is shaped away from the sphere, on purpose, until the whole field is sharp at the same time. That is what we want for a life: not one bill in focus and the rest a blur, but all of it, clear together.

Chaos theory showed that nothing in a complex system stands alone. A small change in one place reaches every other place, and what looks like disorder follows a hidden structure. A life works the same way. The receipt from the hardware store is the deck project, which is the loan, which is the house; the drive across town is a stay, a tank of gas and a line on a card. The connections are already there. Our work is to surface them, so the structure shows and you are the one in control.
